Seal Beach, May 2015 – Retired Salesperson, Speaker and Author, Steve Snyder was featured on popular Chicago’s radio show called “Remarkable Radio” as a Remarkable Expert and Author. The show spotlights noteworthy Experts, People, Places, and Things from around the globe. Steve Snyder, author of ‘Shot Down, The True Story of Pilot Howard Snyder and the Crew of the B-17 Susan Ruth’, was invited on the show to talk about his new book and what prompted him to write it. The show aired on a Saturday afternoon on AM560, one of the premier talk stations in Chicago.

After a 40 year career in sales, Steve Snyder got the inspiration to write this book after his retirement. He wrote the book to enlighten the world about the patriotic service of these brave warriors and for people to appreciate them for their selfless service.

Steve Snyder says, “Initially, I didn’t have any intention of writing a book. After I retired from Vision Service Plan (VSP) in 2009, I had the time to try and organize all the information my parents had kept from the war years.” He continues, “However, it soon became my passion. The story was just so amazing, it had to be told and people needed to read about it. Set within the framework of World War II in Europe, Shot Down is about the experiences of each member of his father’s B-17 the crew after their plane was knocked out of the sky by two German fighters over the French Belgian border and about the courageous Belgian patriots who risked their lives to help them. The print edition of the book has more than 200 time period photographs of the people who were involved and the places where the events took place.”
