Kurt Chacon Featured In New Bestselling Book On Divorce

Published on October 9, 2016

Kurt B. Chacon, JD, CDC (r), founder of Divorce Differently, tops Amazon’s bestseller list with his contribution to the newly launched book, “Divorce: Taking the High Road.”

The book includes insights from eleven certified divorce coaches with the collective mission of providing simple strategies for creating a healthy divorce. “Divorce: Taking the High Road” gives actionable advice for all stages of divorce. From staying out of court, to effective communication and decision-making during the divorce process, to moving on after divorce. The insights shared throughout the book all have an underlying theme of maintaining one’s dignity throughout the divorce and beyond.

The book hit eight Amazon bestseller lists within the first week of its release. It ranked #1 in the “Divorce & Separation” category.

According to Renee Harrison, president of Moguly Media, who served as publisher and project manager for the book: “We are extremely fortunate to have the caliber of Divorce Coaches who gave their time to be interviewed for this project. Each and every one of them is a true advocate and educator. To have Amazon put this book at the top of their bestseller lists in the divorce and family law categories is an incredible achievement and puts a spotlight on the appreciation and recognition they deserve.”

Co-author Kurt Chacon shares his motivation for becoming a contributor to this book project: “As a child of divorce, I say unequivocally no single event affected my life more than my parents’ divorce. Too often, the needs of the children in divorce are marginalized in favor of anger, resentment, economic insecurity and rebuilding of parents’ emotional lives. I wanted to empower parents who wish to put their children first, and live up to that commitment.”

With his chapter titled, “Collaborative Divorce – The Biggest Secret For Access To The High Road In Divorce,” Chacon’s chapter speaks to spouses concerned about the possible conflict and strife which can accompany a litigated divorce. He states: “It is a must read for any parent concerned about the effect of divorce on their children and the possibility of a successful co-parenting relationship after.” The focus of Chacon’s chapter is to: “Uncover the hidden and harsh reality of divorce litigation and explain the most significant alternative to litigation most lawyers do not talk about.  The reader will be endowed with knowledge, understanding, and the power to choose the right process for them.”

According to Kurt Chacon, “In the beginning, my hope was this book might make a difference in the lives of children of divorce by inspiring parents to choose a different divorce path.  When I saw the list of co-authors and the topics for the chapters, I knew it would become a bestselling reality. Their mission is the same as mine: to change the story of divorce and the lives of those it touches.”

Chacon’s mission for Divorce Differently is to “…dismiss the inevitable and embrace the impossible. I empower heroes and champions in the midst of life’s darkest times. I help people divorce differently. It’s just that simple.”

Chacon serves collaborative divorce clients in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and serves divorce coaching clients throughout the U.S.
