DUNEDIN, FL., September 14, 2026 — The Vested Leader, the leadership book by global business executive and entrepreneur Amnah Ajmal, reached No. 1 on Amazon bestseller lists in the United States, Canada and Australia following its Sept. 2 launch, publisher Blue Ocean Publishing Group announced today.

Across the three markets, the book appeared on 25 Amazon bestseller lists in its Kindle and print editions, holding the No. 1 position on several of them.

The lists included International Business, Diversity & Inclusion, Organizational Change, Organizational Behavior, Business Life, Business & Money, Business & Investing, Human Resources & Personnel Management, Management & Leadership, and Industries & Professions.

During the launch, The Vested Leader charted alongside, and in a number of categories above, long-established business titles including Rich Dad Poor Dad, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Atomic Habits, Thinking, Fast and Slow, Never Split the Difference, Think and Grow Rich, Influence, The Psychology of Money, Die With Zero, Good to Great and $100M Offers.

“A launch like this tells you something beyond the numbers,” said Barak Granot of Blue Ocean Publishing Group. “There is a real hunger for these answers. A lot of people in the corporate world are living the struggles this book speaks to, and they have been waiting for someone to name them. We could not be happier with how readers have received it.”

The book opens with a question aimed at senior executives and emerging leaders alike: what if the leadership playbook you followed is the very thing holding you back? Ajmal uses it to examine the personal and organizational cost of the conventional formula for professional success, in which working hard, delivering results, managing perceptions and fitting the mold are rewarded, and difficult conversations are quietly avoided.

In its place, she introduces Vested Leadership, a model grounded in courage, accountability and purpose that asks leaders to take ownership of the effect their decisions have on people, culture and the environments they create.

Ajmal writes from inside the systems she describes. A former senior executive at Mastercard, she led businesses and strategic functions across a broad international footprint, with responsibility for markets, partnerships, innovation, strategy and M&A. Earlier in her career, she became the youngest wealth and retail bank CEO at Standard Chartered Malaysia, where she led the transformation of the retail banking franchise toward a digital model, and she held leadership positions at Citi across the UAE, Egypt, the United Kingdom and Poland.

“Too many capable people reach the positions they worked so hard for, only to find that getting there required silencing parts of themselves,” Ajmal said. “The response to this launch tells me that conversation is overdue. Leadership should not be about learning to conform more effectively. It should be about having the courage to take responsibility for what you stand for and for the impact you have on other people.”

Her career has spanned North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, with responsibility for multibillion-dollar businesses and leadership exposure across more than 100 markets. Ajmal has been named among Forbes Middle East’s 100 Most Powerful Businesswomen in both 2024 and 2025 and has been ranked among leading women in fintech in the United States and globally.

She is also the founder of SheKnows, a global digital platform dedicated to advancing women’s careers and redefining leadership for the next generation, and holds a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

The Vested Leader is written for readers who are succeeding on paper but have begun to question the cost, and for professionals who have felt invisible despite their accomplishments or recognized that something needed to be said and chose silence instead. Rather than a checklist for climbing the corporate ladder, it asks readers to examine the systems they operate in and decide what kind of leader they intend to become.

The Vested Leader by Amnah Ajmal was published Sept. 2, 2026, by Blue Ocean Publishing Group in Kindle and print editions. Its No. 1 rankings in the United States, Canada and Australia and its appearance on 25 bestseller lists marks the book’s debut as an international bestseller.
