Ainsley & Allen Publishing’s recent release, “THE START: Journey To Entrepreneurship,” hit Amazon.com’s best seller list on September 26th, climbing all the way to #1 in the Starting a Business, Company Profiles, and Business Technology Innovation categories.
In response to book reaching #1, Brian Horn, Co-Founder and Special Projects Coordinator with Ainsley & Allen Publishing, said, “Hitting the Best Seller list is something we are excited to have achieved. This is an important project for us because we have been able to create a powerful resource for entrepreneurs at every level while supporting a great cause like Lemonade Day.”
The publishing house has pledged 100% of the royalties from the retail sales of “THE START” to be donated to LemonadeDay.org, a nation-wide educational program that empowers youth to become the business leaders, social advocates, volunteers, and forward-thinking citizens of tomorrow by teaching them the entrepreneurial skills necessary to start, own and operate their own business… a lemonade stand.
Describing the unique concept behind the book, Horn explained, “Entrepreneurs hold themselves to relentlessly high standards, and when they fall, they fall hard. As a result, they often have colorful and illuminating war stories of survival – especially from their early years. We wanted to get those stories and find the common threads, so we reached out to successful entrepreneurs from vastly different styles and backgrounds and asked them to share some of the defining moments in their journey to entrepreneurship.”
“Nobody becomes an entrepreneur because it’s easy. They’re driven by an unstoppable dream,” said Ainsley & Allen Publishing Co-Founder, Jack Mize. “We wanted to share these stories with as many other entrepreneurs as possible.”
Horn and Mize noticed how some entrepreneurs make their way via trial and error, sometimes with luck, but usually, it was through perseverance. And while most entrepreneurs would be happy to share their stories, they end up doing so only with friends and family. They don’t often get the opportunity to reach a broader audience or enlighten other businesspeople who might really benefit from their wisdom and experience.
“THE START” is the result of candid conversations with active, successful entrepreneurs sharing stories of childhood business ambitions to early work life, revealing the moment they crossed over from “I’m going to be an entrepreneur” to “I am an entrepreneur” and the reaction they received from friends and family.
With the popularity of TV shows like ABC’s Shark Tank and CNBC’s The Profit, the journey to entrepreneurship is a hot topic.
Sharing his thoughts on entrepreneurship, Shark Tank star investor Kevin O’Leary says, “I actually think being an entrepreneur is a state of mind. If you’re going to be an entrepreneur, my thesis is that you have to sacrifice everything for some period in your life to be successful. You have to be myopic and completely focused and unbalanced in every way. Once you’ve achieved success, you’re free to do whatever you like.”
Horn expressed his appreciation to the book’s contributors, saying, “We are extremely fortunate to have the caliber of entrepreneurs who gave their time to be interviewed for this project. Each and every one of them is a true advocate and educator. To have Amazon put this book at the top of three best seller lists in categories with top business books like ‘The Lean Startup,’ ‘Zero to One,’ and the Gary V (Vaynerchuk) classic CRUSH IT!’ is an incredible achievement and puts a spotlight on the appreciation and recognition they deserve.”
Filled with the fascinating, inspirational and motivating stories of entrepreneurship and business startups, “THE START: Journey To Entrepreneurship” is a must-read for entrepreneurs at every level.
