DOCUMENTARY ‘VISIONEER’ RACKS UP 4 EMMY NOMS

Visioneer: The Peter Diamandis Story, a film about the creation of the “XPRIZE” contest for spaceflight innovation, has garnered an impressive four nominations for the 39th Annual Suncoast EMMY(r) Awards.

The Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has nominated Visioneer: The Peter Diamandis Story, executive produced by Chuck Boyce and produced by Dick + Nanton Productions, in four prestigious EMMY categories: Craft Achievement in Audio (Josh Bell), Post-Production Director (Nick Nanton), Editor (Nick Ruff), and Cinematography (Carlo Alberto Orecchia, Chris Lowe, Parker Yates, and Ramy Romany).

The documentary tells the story of how famed engineer, physician, and entrepreneur Peter Diamandis and his colleagues managed to overcome hurdle after hurdle to launch the “Ansari XPRIZE,” a $10 million public competition intended to encourage the development of new space vehicles and help usher in a new era of private space flight. The film features such celebrities and luminaries as Richard Branson, Tony Robbins, and Will.i.am.

The 2015 Suncoast EMMY Awards will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Westin Beach Resort & Spa on Fort Lauderdale Beach.
