Business Fame Maker, Donna Gunter, was the featured guest on The Book Publishing Show with host Carrie Severson talking about how local business owners can increase their reach, revenue and reputation with their own published book.

On a recent episode of The Book Publishing Show with Carrie Severson, Donna Gunter, Business Fame Maker, discussed how local business owners can increase their reach, revenue and reputation with their own published book.

According to Gunter, a key ingredient in small business success is attracting a large number of perfect prospects. When a business owner becomes the obvious choice, prospects start chasing the business instead of the business chasing the prospect. The most effective way business owners can accomplish this is by becoming business famous by writing a lead-generation book.

When host Carrie Severson asked what kinds of businesses are helped with this strategy, Gunter answered, “Becoming the author your own book will help you if you are a business owner, consultant, speaker, coach or professional service provider in fields like dentists, doctors, chiropractors, accountants, insurance agents, or anyone in a competitive consulting or professional services field. Anyone who is currently using business cards, brochures, flyers, and advertising on local television and radio stations as the ways of promoting your business will benefit as well.”

During the Interview Gunter shared how a busy local business owner can write a book fast – in as few as 60 minutes, explaining, “You can do this the easy way, which requires no writing at all on your part. You can sit for a forty-five to sixty-minute interview for a book that is specifically designed to start sales conversations. Don’t think of this as another book. It’s more of a direct marketing tool. Think of it like a printed version of a strategy session or free consultation that is cheap to print and hand out (or even mail) to leads. We refer to this type of book as a lead-generation book because its purpose is to generate pre-qualified leads.”

The interview concluded with Gunter noting, “The goal is to get your book into as many hands as possible.  When you send your clients and your prospects a book, you become top-of-mind to them. Unlike a business card, business flyer, and business brochure that are easily thrown out, most people will hang onto a book or pass it along to someone who needs it or will pull it off their bookshelf when they are ready to solve the problem with which you can help them.”
