John Nottingham Named to Board of Directors of BULLYPROOF America

Published on August 5, 2016

John Nottingham has been named as a member of the Board of Directors of BULLYPROOF America, a non-profit organization tasked with educating 50,000 kids about bullying in 2016.

BULLYPROOF America was started to educate kids, families, and communities to curb this problem.

The formation of BULLYPROOF America is meant to widen the reach of the prevention efforts, giving local partners the ability to work with more kids, schools, and organizations.  Each partner has a goal of education 1,000 kids by the end of 2016.

“It’s a lofty goal, no doubt,” says Alex Changho, founder of BULLYPROOF America.  “But it’s one of passion.  I was bullied as a kid, as were many of the authors in the books.  This is something we can do together to change lives in our local communities.”

Nottingham, owner of USA Martial Arts in Phoenix, is no stranger to bully prevention. For decades he has taught personal safety, bullying prevention, and martial arts to the local community.

“John is a great example of someone who is passionate about helping kids,” says Changho.  “And he also has a ‘maverick’ approach.  While many institutions out there are promoting one particular method of bullying prevention, John brings to the table a contrary position.  This is going to make BULLYPROOF America more comprehensive and more powerful force to help kids.”
