Quebec-Based Author Elizabeth Berardi To Publish Her First French-Language Novel Set in Montreal, Mektoub… Le Badge, A Humorous Mix Of Autobiography And Fiction

After a few years of writing, editing, and searching for a publisher for her first book, Elizabeth Berardi will have her first novel Mektoub... Le Badge published by Book Publishing Fairy Godmother Debbie Horovitch of Social Sparkle & Shine, in time for the holiday season this year.

Mektoub… Le Badge is a police novel, with a sentimental and humorous frame, set in Montreal and its surroundings.

Multiple publishers showed interest in her book, but Elizabeth Berardi has decided to be published by Canadian book publisher, Social Sparkle & Shine Publishing’s Fairy Godmother, Debbie Horovitch. Berardi will manage the promotion and distribution requests for her books herself. She is securing distribution deals with bookstore chains in Quebec and retailers in multiple French speaking countries including Morocco, Tunisia, France, Switzerland among others on her list.

The eBook and print book will be published on Amazon and available only in French language edition globally, to begin with.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Zika Diriva is intrepid, spontaneous, too much as some would say, she is persuasive, has charm, great strength of character, a sarcastic wit and … a grudge. Following a dismissal, without work and without money, but fervent reader of crime novels and espionage, this executive assistant decides on a whim to become a private detective.
Before she’s hired, she finds herself unknowingly parachuted into a situation where danger and comical problems become her daily life, where endearing personalities mingle with menacing and unscrupulous individuals.
She also manages a stormy relationship with her boyfriend Riad, who himself is going through a period of crisis, while facing the assaults of his future boss, Seif, who Zika finds increasingly seductive and ultra-sexy.
In turn pursuing and pursued, Zika will risk more than once her life to earn money and finally have …. the detective badge. Twists and turns, Zika Diriva will rely on Mektoub, destiny, who will decide ….

Suite à un licenciement, sans travail et sans argent, mais fervente lectrice de romans policiers et d’espionnage, cette adjointe de direction décide sur un coup de tête de devenir détective privée.
Histoire de s’entraîner, elle se retrouve parachutée à son insu dans une histoire où le danger et les situations cocasses deviennent son quotidien, où des personnages attachants se mêlent à des individus menaçants et sans scrupules.
Elle devra aussi gérer une relation de couple houleuse avec son copain Riad, qui lui-même traverse une période de crise, tout en faisant face aux assauts de plus en plus torrides de Seif, son futur patron, séduisant et ultra-sexy.
Tour à tour poursuivante et poursuivie, Zika va risquer plus d’une fois sa vie pour gagner de l’argent et pour avoir enfin…. le badge de détective.
De rebondissements en rebondissements, Zika Diriva s’en remettra à Mektoub, le Destin, qui décidera….

Half French, half Slovenian, with Italian roots, Elizabeth Berardi immigrated to Canada as an adult and moved to Montreal after living in many African countries, and Europe. She studied in France, Gabon, Morocco, and Germany and obtained certificates in English and German to become an interpreter. Mektoub (destiny) decided otherwise, and she held executive positions in administration, and sales and marketing, while devoting herself to her passions in her spare time: karate and writing. Mektoub …. The badge is her first novel.

Moitié Française, moitié Slovène, avec des racines Italiennes, Elizabeth Berardi a immigré au Canada depuis plusieurs années et s’est installée à Montréal après avoir vécu dans de nombreux pays d’Afrique et d’Europe. Elle a étudié en France, au Gabon, au Maroc et en Allemagne et a obtenu des certificats universitaires en langue anglaise et allemande pour devenir interprète. Mektoub (le Destin) en a décidé autrement, elle a occupé des postes exécutifs en administration, en ventes et en marketing, tout en s’adonnant à ses passions dans ses temps libres: le karaté et l’écriture.
