FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Mentor, OH – DATE: Runyon & Sons Roofing

Runyon & Sons Roofing of Mentor, Ohio, has received GAF’s most prestigious contractor award: The GAF President’s Club Award. This highly coveted award recognizes Runyon & Sons Roofing as one of the “elite of the elite” residential roofing contractors in the United States.

GAF is North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, and only GAF Master Elite(R) Contractors can compete for its President’s Club Award. To qualify for this award, a contractor must demonstrate an exceptional level of excellence in their business, especially in the areas of Installation Excellence, Consumer Protection, and Installer Training.

Runyon & Sons Roofing has been a GAF Master Elite(R) Contractor since 1998. To become a Master Elite(R) Contractor–a status that less than 2% of roofing contractors nationwide have achieved–a candidate must demonstrate proper licensing and adequate insurance, have a proven reputation and show commitment to ongoing professional training.

At Runyon & Sons Roofing, one size does not fit all. “When we go to a home or a building, we realize that each project is different,” says Todd Runyon, sales manager. “The end goal is to customize a solution that will meet the customer’s expectations. If we’re meeting those expectations and achieving the goal, we’ve done a good job for that customer.”

A third-generation, family-owned company, Runyon & Sons is recognized for its steep slope work and residential roof replacements. “What people don’t know about us,” states Runyon, “is that we’re active in all types of roofing, including low-slope replacements and repairs of all types. We also handle gutters and installations and do custom metal work.”

Teamwork and customer interaction are standard operating procedure at the company. “Sales and Production share the same vision here, so everyone is always in the loop,” says Runyon. “After the initial contact, whether it’s a phone call or a Web inquiry, we set up a meeting with the homeowners and get to know them and have them get to know us. After gathering information, we follow up with a proposal and a second meeting. Customers can even come to us, and touch and feel the actual products we use; it really adds to their understanding of the whole process. Then our job supervisor does an inspection before work actually commences. Once the job is completed, our quality control coordinator inspects the work and walks the property with the homeowner to ensure complete satisfaction.”

Every member of the company’s well-trained staff is an employee. According to Runyon, “We don’t use subcontractors. From beginning to end, every person is someone who works for us. Although each job is different, our principles are always the same–so our people know what to expect on the job site, as well as what we expect from them.”

Runyon & Sons has a sincere commitment to helping others. “Over the past few years, we’ve been really diligent about giving back to charities,” says Runyon. “Twice yearly, we hold an auction to donate a roof, including all labor and materials. One benefits the Malone Family Foundation’s Scholars Program, which awards scholarships to exceptional kids with limited resources. The second is for A Kid Again, which benefits children with life-threatening illnesses. It’s heartbreaking and humbling to work with these amazing organizations.”

Going forward, the company plans to continue branching out into newer roof models and innovative materials. “Customers have told us this is what they want, so we’re focused on it,” concludes Runyon. “We still work on standard roofs and will still be a market leader in our area. We’ll continue to grow and continue on the path we’ve been on for years.”
