Paul is a merit scholarship expert who believes that all families deserve to know about ways to reduce the ever expanding costs of attending college.
As a mom actively involved in her three daughter’s school activities, Paul was somewhat familiar with the term “merit” scholarship. Facing the financial burden of having three daughters in college at the same time over an extended period of time, she decided to figure out if merit scholarships could work for her family.
What happened next started Paul on her mission to help families just like hers.
Handed the short list of two scholarship resource sites by both high school and private college counselors, Paul quickly learned that it took hundreds of hours of digging into the details, researching more sites, and putting the many pieces of this puzzle together in a process. She first found $150,000 in private merit scholarship opportunities that fit Rebecca, her eldest. That figure didn’t include institutional merit aid. Together, Paul’s three daughters were awarded nearly $600,000 in merit scholarships from colleges and private sources. Rebecca graduated UCLA in June with more scholarship winnings than she could spend.
Paul repeated this process for her other two daughters and it wasn’t long before other parents wanted to know what she had learned and “The Little Book About Scholarships” was born.
“The Little Book About Scholarships” addresses common questions about merit scholarships — money for college based on achievement. The book also contains answers to questions families should ask yet often don’t consider.
The book takes the confusion out of understanding merit scholarships. The resource covers such topics as: how to find merit scholarships, tips for writing a winning scholarship essay, the importance of pursuing private and institutional merit scholarships, and how to qualify for more merit scholarships
