Beech Grove Farm in Gambrills, Maryland announces that September 2016 will be Military and Veterans Appreciation Month at the farm. Active military and military veterans will be offered free trail rides and riding lessons during the event. Appropriate identification will be required for participants.
Beech Grove Farm has been family owned and operated since 1936. Fourth generation family member Anita Baase operates the farm. Beech Grove Farm first operated as a tobacco farm and since 1987 as an equine facility specializing in horse care and education.
Baase said, “Hosting our military and veterans is such an honor. This special event during September is an opportunity to express my own appreciation for their service and sacrifice to our country. We hope to make this an annual event.”
Kristina Truluck, an active member of the United States Army, based at Fort Meade, MD said, “I have really enjoyed taking riding lessons and the trail rides at Beech Grove Farm. Being in the Army is stressful and this is a great way for me to get out in nature and relax in the natural wooded environment.” She continued, “The farm is a family-oriented facility and quite an asset, so close to the urban areas surrounding Washington D.C. and Baltimore.“
Beech Grove Farm is located within the Baltimore, Washington, and Annapolis triangle on 114 acres in Gambrills, Maryland. The farm offers horse boarding and equine care, riding lessons, trail rides, and equine education.
