Los Angeles, CA — May is the official national month of recognition for public servants, and communities and professionals are coming together to coordinate an unforgettable campaign to donate a new book written specifically for heroes to be given to heroes. Calling on all schools, churches, businesses and the community at large to give back to those who give to you; the Augmented Publishing Group is on a mission to do something bigger this May.
By pre-ordering a copy of the book “Helping Heroes: Setting You Up to Live the Life You Desire Now and in Retirement”, which features numerous top professionals, including Andrea Steward, a retired LAPD Operator (PSR), military reserve veteran and real estate agent, a book will be donated to a hero of the purchaser’s choosing: law enforcement officials, medical professionals, firefighters, teachers or military personnel. This will be done through a cause-marketing campaign.
“A challenging election and aftermath has culminated in national unrest, and we wanted to do something to bring communities together by showing appreciation for those that serve us,” says Lisa C. Williams, president of the Augmented Publishing Group. “We thought, what better way to come together than by giving.”
By purchasing a book that will be donated to a hero, public servants of all types will receive expert advice on subjects that affect their everyday lives, from real estate to retirement to health and wellness, says Williams. The book also provides them with information about a rebate they qualify for when buying or selling their homes.
One hundred percent of the book’s retail royalties and a portion of the pre-ordered books will be donated to HOPE4BLUE, a national nonprofit organization that raises funds to support every police officer and every police agency in America.
“It’s so important, now more than ever, that we not only stand in solidarity with the selfless heroes who comprise our communities, but that we also go a step further and show honor by serving them back,” says Steward. “As a retired public servant myself, I felt compelled to participate in this book project and community initiative.”
Steward says she is incredibly excited to honor heroes, and will be visiting various locations during the month of May to recognize them by rewarding them with complimentary copies of the book.
The campaign is asking for schools, churches, businesses and the community in the Los Angeles and surrounding areas to participate in the campaign. Sponsorship packages are available. The cost to pre-order a book is $12 and will be delivered to heroes everywhere in late July 2017.
“I think it will be fun and rewarding for all who participate,” says Steward. “Students and adults can write a note to the hero to whom they are donating the book and thank them for what they’ve done, and the hero will receive that note.”
