Real Estate Pro Rebecca Ashley Best reflects on her experience in sports and talks about using her experience as an All-American athlete to advance her career in real estate.

Williamstown, NJ – Rebecca Ashley Best is an accomplished athlete with a budding career in real estate. A proud New Jersey native, Best enjoys helping people find their ideal home and uses her experiences as a gymnast to succeed.

Best, like many athletes, has had a few bumps and bruises along the way. A proud alum of The Ohio State University, Best says her first year in college was exploratory and she was really uncertain about her career path at first. “When I got there, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do,” says Best. She had an interest in design and eventually joined the university’s fashion program. Her eye for style and design is something that she uses to help buyers realize the true potential in different properties throughout the Garden State.

According to the National Association of Realtors, just 20% of real estate agents handle 80% of closings, with many agents struggling to maintain clients. Best says her style isn’t the only thing that helps her beat those odds. Her experience as an athlete gives her the confidence she needs to win in the real estate game.

“[Athletics] gives you order and discipline. It shows you how to schedule and to stick to what you had planned,” says Best. “It’s helped me to ground myself. Even if something might be a little difficult for me, it shows me that I can still push through it and a good outcome is going to come out of it if I just continue working with it.” Best says that athletics and competition are great tools for navigating the real estate world, and also prepare people for navigating life, in general.

“I am really grateful that I have gymnastics as my basis to look back at, because there were a couple of times that I wanted to quit real estate,” says Best. “But I understand the process of just taking it day by day, and you’re just going to get better and better at it.”
