Laurel, MD – May 6, 2018: American Home Contractors, Inc.

American Home Contractors, Inc., of Laurel, Maryland, has received the most prestigious contractor award GAF offers: The GAF President’s Club Award. This highly coveted award recognizes American Home Contractors as one of the “elite of the elite” residential roofing contractors in the United States.

GAF is North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, and only GAF Master Elite(R) Contractors can compete for its residential President’s Club Award. To qualify for this award, a residential roofing contractor must meet specific criteria in at least one out of three different pathways:

Performance pathway – where contractors focus on giving their property owners the best possible service, quality, and protection

Reliability pathway – where the contractor has a long history of offering their customers the best quality and protection

Service pathway – where contractors consistently offer their customers the best protection available in the marketplace.

American Home Contractors has been a GAF Master Elite(R) Contractor since 2011. To become a Master Elite(R) Contractor–a status that less than 2% of roofing contractors nationwide are able to achieve–a candidate must demonstrate proper licensing, maintain insurance (in states that require it), have a proven reputation, and show commitment to ongoing professional training.

“We value our certified contractors for raising the industry standard year after year by installing the best roofing products and systems. Our President’s Club award recognizes only those contractors who have distinguished themselves by the highest standards of excellence, customer satisfaction, and dependability,” says Jim Slauson, GAF’s VP of Certified Program & Services.

In business since 1986, American Home Contractors is not a national franchise. “We’re a local, family-owned business,” says vice president David Silverstein. “People hire us primarily because of our reputation for treating home owners fairly. We accept a nominal $100 deposit, regardless of the size of the job. This means that homeowners see the job before they pay the balance, which makes most people feel very comfortable trusting us with their projects.”

Licensed to work in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia, American Home Contractors performs both repairs and replacements. “Our reputation and focus on providing quality products are second to none,” states Silverstein. “In the service area, we’ve developed–just in the last few years–our tune-up service, a maintenance program that can extend the life of roofs and gutter systems. It’s also an excellent way for us to build relationships with homeowners for the future.”

The company gives back to the community by participating in charitable events and working with different organizations. “Currently, we’re getting involved with the Wounded Warriors Foundation,” adds Silverstein. “We also work with Feed the Children and Habitat for Humanity, and we sponsor golf events with the Life Plus Foundation.” American Home Contractors also participates in GAF’s Roofs for Troops promotion. It is a member of the National Roofing Contractors Association and maintains an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Going forward, the company aims to achieve a 99% approval rating with Guild Quality, a third-party survey company. It also aspires to surpass 1,000 reviews with Angie’s List. “We’re looking at continued growth and profitability to reinvest in the business for future expansion,” says Silverstein. In 2017, the company added an office in Fairfax, Virginia to better serve the northern Virginia market, and it has a new Maryland office as well. It has continued double-digit growth and plans to add solar products to its offerings.

American Home Contractors intends to maintain its strong presence in the Maryland roofing market. “As a full-service home-improvement contractor, we handle all types of exterior remodeling,” concludes Silverstein. “Every client can expect the ‘personal touch’ from our staff. Whether customers are looking for roofing, windows, siding, or gutter replacement, we assure them the peace of mind that can come only from years of experience. By continuing to add top talent, we’re better able to service the Maryland, DC, and northern Virginia areas. We are very proud of our team and look forward to continued growth and expansion this year.”
