Education Travel & Exchange (ETC) Field Manager Interviewed on Business Innovators Magazine Radio Show about the Importance for Student Exchange Programs

Published on July 11, 2016

Elaine Lee of Education Travel & Exchange (ETC) recently spoke with Mike Saunders on the Business Innovators Magazine Radio Show, regarding ETC and its purpose promoting international understanding and goodwill among students. ETC specializes in student exchange programs.

ETC places international and U.S. high school students with host families, allowing students to gain intercultural experience and insight into foreign education. The benefits of these placements are immense, because it broadens students’ horizons and creates opportunities for academic discovery and future employment.

Many students end-up forming relationships that last a lifetime. Not only that, but students can learn about important cultural norms from host families, gaining the skills needed to become effective leaders in the future. Former exchange students help to bridge gaps among businesses and governments, given their own personal experiences. The host families also gain valuable insights and experience as well, while furthering international relations and academic advancement.

The process of becoming an exchange student or a host family starts with an application. The terms and fees are explained during the application process, along with guidelines for students and host families. ETC makes every effort to create positive experiences for everyone involved in exchange programs. All applicants are screened by ETC to ensure the right people are in the program.

Education Travel & Culture (ETC) is a non-profit [501(c)(3)] educational exchange organization. Its purpose is to promote international understanding and goodwill by providing high quality educational and cultural exchange programs in the United States and abroad. ETC provides inbound program opportunities for high school students throughout the world to study in an American high school and live with an American family. Host families provide room and board, a quiet place to study, and an American family experience for guest students during their semester or academic year in the United States. ETC’s outbound program offers students the chance to study and live in a foreign country.
