Felicia Gopaul Launches Financial Control Mastery a New Program to Help Women Take Control of Their Financial Future

Published on April 5, 2016

April 05, 2016 CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(r) practitioner, Felicia Gopaul, is dedicated to teaching women how to turn their careers into wealth. Financial Control Mastery will show women ages 40-60 how to handle their money using a five-step blueprint.

Financial Control Mastery is about women overcoming financial insecurity even if they’ve been stuck, struggled and stressed in the past…despite making good money.

“Women’s statistics in retirement scares me. I’ve lived long enough that I’ve seen women I know devastated by divorce, job loss, health crisis or the death of a partner. It often leaves them scared and feeling powerless. I help women go from powerless to safe, secure and ultimately in control of their destiny,” Gopaul states.

Gopaul’s mission is to leverage her 22 years in financial services for some of the nation’s most respected companies, – she managed $1 billion in assets (including for the city of Philadelphia, the nation’s 4th/5th largest city) – to serve her mission of helping women.

An alumna of UC Berkeley, Cal State and UCLA, she has also been recognized by Black Enterprise, Reuters, Washington Post, AARP, Fox Business, CFP Board, Star Ledger, and NPR – Chicago.

Gopaul says her passion for empowering women was shaped by her mother’s experience of having to take over the family finances after 20 years of not being in control. Seeing her struggle in asking others for help, learn new skills and responsibilities was a life-changing experience.

This pivotal time stokes her drive to help women master their finances and take control so they gain clarity, confidence, control and feel empowered.

According to the National Center for Women and Retirement Research, 80-90% of women will be solely responsible for their finances a some point in their lives. (1) However, fewer than 2 in 10 women feel very prepared to make wise financial decisions(2). “This scares me,” Gopaul says.

As an accountant, she worked in the estate-planning department of a law firm with millionaire clients. She was introduced to investment clubs, stock portfolios, stock options, retirement accounts and other ways the wealthy build and protect their assets. She grew her financial planning business, learning copywriting, podcasting, the importance of accountability and ways to attract new clients.

Through FC Mastery, women will gain an understanding that a bigger paycheck (more income) is not the same as being wealthy. Only wealth can be passed on.

The goal is a new generation of women who teach what they learned and transform their communities. Gopaul’s goal, “Today, I am building a community of women who are committed to taking control of their finances and building their wealth.”
