Geoff Ables, C5 Insight Managing Partner, has been selected as a speaker and workshop leader for three sessions at Advanced Learning Institute’s Leadership & Executive Communications Conference. The event is being held from November 29 through December 1, 2017 at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park Hotel in Chicago, Illinois.
Ables will be presenting the workshop, “Create a Plan for Becoming an Engaged Digital Executive.” Attendees will learn how communication within organizations is constantly changing and why leaders that don’t master digital communication tools are finding themselves left behind by more agile competitors and newcomers. Ables will provide insight into why a lack of digital engagement is creating a crisis in many organizations; understanding and prioritizing the tools for digital workplace engagement; creating a plan for becoming a digital executive by sharing stories across digital channels; leading through a transformation into a more agile and people-centric culture; and a framework for using high-tech communication tools to create high-touch relationships.
Ables will be leading the interactive session, “Lead the Leaders: How to Coach Your Leaders Through Change.” He will discuss the change management challenges facing evolving digital workplaces that have 5 generations in the workforce, from the iGen who don’t use email to Boomers who still insist on having their assistants print out their email. Attendees will share experiences and capture practical tips to go beyond buy-in with leaders that are resistant to change, and gain engagement and platform adoption. They will also learn how to plan and tell stories to engage leaders; influence executives to engage in projects outside their comfort zone; and create a vision for new way to lead their organization into the digital age.
Ables will also be presenting the workshop, “Creating a Culture of Peer-to-Peer Accountability to Spread Leadership Throughout Your Organization.” He will elaborate on a case study of how Silver Oak Cellars is transforming their culture for the digital age. Attendees will learn how and why metrics and systems are an integral part of leadership and great company culture; what too much or too little engagement looks like, and how to stay in balance; establishing and adopting a “virtuous cycle” of continuous improvement; and getting teams to accept leadership and accountability for results, freeing up the leaders to lead.
Ables is the author of “The LUCK Principle: Business Results at the Intersection of People & Profit.” In the book he teaches how to harness the power of people, process, and technology to transform a business into a workplace that balances a people-first culture with bottom-line results. The book is available in both paperback and Kindle versions on Amazon at http://www.Amazon.com/dp/B01N0QW5H4.
