The book takes a compassionate look at putting children first during a divorce, as well as sharing the benefits of pursuing a collaborative or mediated divorce. In her chapter, “The Road to Resiliency: How to Raise Resilient Children Through a Family Transition”, Clay shares her experience and research on “attachment” relationships, children’s needs through times of crisis or transition, and how parents can help their children build resiliency.
Kristine brings over 25 years of experience working with families in crisis or trauma — and, those simply struggling with the demands of life. She is involved in her community as a teacher, therapist, and supervisor for programs that support families. Through her years of experience, her practice has evolved, with an increased focus helping families manage high-conflict and navigate complex custody situations, including situations where one parent’s influence and relationship with their child has been compromised. She is pursuing a Doctorate in Psychology, with a focus on interpersonal neurobiology, attachment, trauma, family systems, complex custody and divorce.
Clay passionately advocates for collaboration and mediation in divorce. Kristine’s mission — healing happens in the present — aligns with the mission of Putting Kids First in Divorce. According to Kristine, “It has been such a privilege to be involved in this effort to help families in transition. Thank you to Moguly Media, Renée Harrison and Jeremy Kossen for all your support and your passion for helping children and families be as peaceful and joyful as possible.”
