In an effort to continue serving patients with the most updated dental procedures, eight team members from Leedy Dental in Abilene, Texas recently traveled to San Diego to take part in a three-day symposium.

The representatives participated in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI)’s summer symposium from Aug. 25-27 where they updated their skills and certifications on dental implants.

The ICOI is the largest dental implant organization in the world and also emphasizes the need for continuing dental implant education by offering educational programs to all members of a dental team. The ICOI Summer Implant Symposium is one of several programs offered across the world.

“It was a wonderful opportunity to learn the most up-to-date methods,” stated Dr. Robert Leedy after the symposium. “By having two dentists and six others from our office participating, we are able to enhance each of our particular skills. I am grateful to our patients for understanding our scheduling limitations during this time.”

In addition to Dr. Leedy and his counterpart, Dr. Nikki Green, their office was well-represented by: Registered Dental Assistants Rachael (Implant Coordinator), Freda (Implant Coordinator Certification Program and ADIA Member, Shari (Dental Assistant Certification Program); Dental Assistant Elizabeth (Dental Hygiene Certification Program), Rickie (DHCP), and Financial Coordinator Ticia (Practice Management Certification Program).

“We are proud to announce that all of our team members are certified,” Dr. Leedy stated.

Leedy Dental has been offering general, cosmetic and implant dentistry for more than 30 years. Over the course of three decades, Dr. Leedy not only strives to learn the latest implant technologies, but also encourages his support staff to keep their knowledge fresh and updated.
