Ridgecrest Elementary is a Chinese Dual Immersion school located in Cottonwood Heights, UT. The school has a student population of about seven hundred children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. The school and its team are lead by principal Julie Winfree.
This year Ridgecrest has again re-doubled its efforts to reduce bullying and improve student leadership. Winfree’s plan is to increase the school’s focus on educating students, teachers and parents on the realities of bullying and anti-bully education, thereby empowering the students to the highest level possible.
Winfree was quoted as saying, “We worked with Brett and his team last year and we felt it was a great addition to our anti-bully and leadership curriculum. We are proud to have him back again this year working with our students.”
The academic year begins at Ridgecrest on August 24th and the two day comprehensive anti-bully trainings kick off on September 19th and end on September 22nd. The leadership portion will begin in September and run the entire academic year.
“I am honored to be part of the anti-bully education process for this incredible school. It is always great to work with such a caring team as Principal Winfree and her staff. I have no doubt that we will be able to make great strides in reducing bullying and increasing leadership in this school if we all work together,” said Brett Lechtenberg, creator of the Anti Bully Program.
