This highly coveted award recognizes Rock & Tait Exteriors as one of the “elite of the elite” residential roofing contractors in the United States.
GAF is North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, and only GAF Master Elite(R) Contractors can compete for its residential President’s Club Award. To qualify for this award, a residential roofing contractor must demonstrate an exceptional level of excellence in their business, especially in the areas of Installation Excellence, Consumer Protection, and Installer Training.
Rock & Tait Exteriors has been a GAF Master Elite(R) Contractor since 2011. To become a Master Elite(R) Contractor–a status that less than 2% of roofing contractors nationwide have achieved–a candidate must demonstrate proper licensing and adequate insurance, have a proven reputation and show commitment to ongoing professional training.
Rock & Tait Exteriors takes care of your house from top to bottom, according to co-owner Kane Rockow. “We have a ‘whole-house’ approach,” he explains. “When we check out a home, we examine the ventilation, the insulation, the roofing, the siding of windows and doors–all of those factor into whether your house is working well as a system. And they are indicators of whether the individual components will last as long as they’re supposed to.”
“Most people in our area know how we conduct business,” states Rockow. “They know our company is all employees, with no subcontractors–there are always quality people on the project, people who care about what they’re doing. They know we take pride in putting our name on what we do. These are reasons why customers choose us.”
The quality interaction with customers starts with the initial call. “Every call is treated equally; we don’t filter leads,” explains Rockow. “One of our estimators meets with the customer and gives as much time as needed to figure out the customer’s needs or identify the problems with the home. We offer all the different options available for that particular home, including the Golden Pledge warranty. And we have a quick completion time for projects–roofing is usually a day or just over a day; other, more complicated projects can be one to two weeks.
The attention to detail is reflected in the company’s reviews and ratings. “You know, we focus on customer satisfaction,” says Rockow. “We have an A rating with Angie’s List and an A+ accreditation from the Better Business Bureau. We also use an independent company, Guild Quality, that surveys our customers. This allows us to keep our quality control at a high level.”
Rock & Tait is active in the community, donating labor to churches and working on homes for Habitat for Humanity. The company has also received the Department of Energy’s Century Club award for using the whole-house approach to improve energy performance in 100 or more homes.
Looking forward, the company has the goals of increasing sales volumes and percentage of referrals; it also plans to grow newer aspects of its business, such as patio stamped concrete services, and to look at expansion into the Chippewa Falls area. “Our biggest focus is always customer service,” concludes Rockow, “with both existing customers and future customers. From additions to remodels to full remodels, there really isn’t anything that we can’t handle.”
