Pickering Veterinarian, Susan Loreen Smith, hit #1 on the Amazon.com Best Sellers List on November 10, 2015 for the release of “Local Business Mavericks-Volume 2.” The book secured a total of three number one spots for all the authors who contributed to the book including two number one rankings in the “Urban & Regional Economics” category and one number one spot in the “Customer Service” category.  

“Local Business Mavericks-Volume 2” is a compilation of 1on1 conversations with some of the top entrepreneurs in their industry and secured Bestseller rank status on the day of its release.

Each contributing author reveals their strategies, insights and innovations for helping overcome the toughest obstacles standing in the way of their customers’ success.

Dr. Smith authored the first chapter of the book which deals with pet ownership and pet care. She was excited when given the news regarding the book’s status.

Dr. Smith attended the University of Guelph and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1993. In 1995 Dr. Smith joined the staff at Pickering Animal Hospital. During her career as a Veterinarian; Dr. Smith discovered treating pets can be very challenging since they obviously cannot verbalize what is wrong with them. Therefore, she has ensured both her and her associate doctors utilize their extensive education, experience and modern diagnostic tools in order to find the root cause of a problem.
