A three dentist practice, Tarpon Shores Dental was named three times to the latest Top Dentists 2016 list. Tarpon Shores Dental dentists, and Dr. C. Romesh Weerasooriya, Dr. R. Scott Thompson and Dr. Shanaka Weerasooriya, DMD were all awarded “Top Dentist” status.
The Top Dentist 2016 list recognized Dr. C. Romesh Weerasooriya for his talents in restorative dentistry and his holistic approach to improving a patient’s entire health through better oral care. Dr. C. Romesh Weerasooriya, often called “Dr. Mesh,” focuses on comprehensively treating a patient’s entire oral system. This includes not only the teeth and gums, but a patient’s bite, the associated jaw joint (TMJ), and the muscles of the head and neck.
Science is continually finding links between disease processes in the mouth, like periodontal disease and long-term health consequences to the entire body. Dr. Mesh takes a “holistic” approach to dentistry by keeping the importance of a patient’s overall, long-term health at the forefront of his care.
While health is important, the look of a patient’s teeth affects every area of their life. Dr. Mesh’s goal is to create dentistry that is as functional as it is beautiful. He works very closely with his talented ceramist, Dave Matrisciano, to create truly customized restorations in harmony with each patient’s goals and desires.
The award highlights his dedication to creating beautiful and healthy smiles. Dr. Mesh says, “It is so important to look at the health of a patient’s mouth and how that can improve the health of their entire body. I also listen to my patients and we plan together how to restore the youth and vitality of their teeth, along with improving their oral health.”
He adds, “I want them to look in the mirror and see the person they were always meant to be, youthful, confident and happy. I don’t want them stuck focusing on the imperfections, discolorations or signs of age their teeth might show.” He explains, “Together we create a new smile that reflects how young they feel inside, on the outside.”
