Butler Elementary is a French Dual Immersion school located in Cottonwood Heights, UT. The brand new location will have its ribbon cutting on August 18th and the community is welcome to attend. The school has a student population of about six hundred children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade.
With the new facility comes a renewed focus on creating an even more powerful and effective anti-bully and leadership culture. The enhanced curriculum will improve student leadership by increasing its focus on educating students, teachers and parents on the realities of bullying and anti-bully education.
Principal Waddell stated, “We want our brand new school to stand for a brand new way of student empowerment and leadership. Of course this includes our focus on the ever present topic of bullying. We worked with Brett last year and his program was very helpful in improving our anti-bully culture. We are glad to have him back again this year.”
The school year kicks off for Butler on August 24th. The students in each grade will have two days of intensive anti bully training, beginning on August 31st and ending on September 9th. The follow up leadership sessions will begin in September and run the entire academic year.
Lechtenberg said, “I am looking forward to helping boost Bobcat pride, reduce bullying and increase leadership here at Butler. Principal Waddell and her team are incredible at working with their students and we are proud to be part of the team.”
