The need for financial literacy is increasing as Americans garner more debt. As a result, Anita Maxwell, former WNBA player and recognized global leader, started SuccessFULL Living to help people understand the importance of proper financial planning in the grand scheme of having more options in life. Her company offers guidance to help people create a financial plan for themselves and their families.
Forbes recently published an article that states “According to a brand new survey from Bankrate.com, just 37% of Americans have enough savings to pay for a $500 or $1,000 emergency. The other 63% would have to resort to measures like cutting back spending in other areas (23%), charging to a credit card (15%) or borrowing funds from friends and family (15%) in order to meet the cost of the unexpected event.”
Similarly, an article in the Atlantic explains, “Two reports published last year by the Pew Charitable Trusts found, respectively, that 55 percent of households didn’t have enough liquid savings to replace a month’s worth of lost income, and that of the 56 percent of people who said they’d worried about their finances in the previous year, 71 percent were concerned about having enough money to cover everyday expenses.”
Due to Anita’s personal experiences, she is determined to help others make sound financial decisions. Anita was recently interviewed on the Athletes as Educators podcast where she talked about her company and why she is so passionate about this work. “I completely understand the challenges that people face with their finances and if they knew how to make subtle changes they could completely change their financial futures.”
In addition to a business that serves individual clients, in late 2016 Anita launched the SuccessFULL Living Radio Show to increase her listeners’ financial literacy and offer inspiration to help people live an abundant life.
