The topic of bullying is not one that is a stranger to the media.  There are reports of incidents stemming from bulling as serious as injury, hospitalization, or even suicide.

BULLYPROOF America was started to educate kids, families, and communities to curb this problem.

“The thing is, it’s not just bullying that’s a problem,” says Alex Changho, founder of BULLYPROOF America.  “It’s the negative effects of bullying that are causing kids to suffer.  If we can help kids become more confident, stronger inside, and have big goals to strive for, it gives them that compelling future to move towards despite bullying.  And it helps them be more resilient.”

In August 2015, Changho, along with eleven leaders across the country and world, co-authored a book called BULLYPROOF: Unleash the Hero Inside Your Kid.  This book was written to be able to share the message of bullying prevention with local communities.  As a result of BULLYPROOF, and the sequels in the series, several thousand kids have been through bully prevention programs, taught and hosted by the authors in free community workshops.

The formation of BULLYPROOF America is meant to widen the reach of the prevention efforts, giving local partners the ability to work with more kids, schools, and organizations.  Each partner has a goal of education 1,000 kids by the end of 2016.

“It’s a lofty goal, no doubt,” says Changho.  “But it’s one of passion.  I was bullied as a kid, as were many of the authors in the books.  This is something we can do together to change lives in our local communities.”
