Delaware Mud Run to Benefit the Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware

Published on July 28, 2016

Looking for a fun and muddy way to help an important charity? Then register for the 8th annual Delaware Mud Run, which will be held on Sunday, Sept. 18, at Frightland in Middletown, DE. The Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware will receive 100 percent of the proceeds from this year's 5K obstacle race.

The Delaware Mud Run is, a mudder-syle race. This goes beyond running a 5k; there will be boot-camp style obstacles surrounded by (or consisting of) mud. Participants should be prepared to slip, slide, and slosh along the course to the finish line. Viewing areas along the course are available for participants’ friends and loved ones to watch the action and get a good laugh.

Participation in the Mud Run involves teams of four in either the men’s, women’s, or Co-Ed categories (and individuals can register for the race as well). There will be prizes for the fastest teams, the team with the most creativity, and teams that raises the most money for the Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware. In addition, each team member gets a Delaware Mud Run tee-shirt and a SchagrinGas sponsored koozie.

Beyond the fun and festiveness of the event, your participation helps an important cause. Last year’s Mud Run raised nearly $200,000 that went toward leukemia research. In its eighth year, funding from the Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware enables researchers to make crucial discoveries that will help the medical world develop a better understanding of blood cancers. Each dollar will lead to better treatments and, ultimately, we hope, a cure for this terrible of disease.
