The Create TV team received hundreds of video submissions from across the country for its first Create Cooking Challenge, with viewers participating from nearly 90 local public television stations. This highly competitive national contest highlighted both professional and home-based chefs who shared their culinary ability, knowledge, and expertise with viewers via  a video that featured their favorite culinary tips, recipes, and ideas.

“It was an honor that some of the top chefs in the country, some of whom I grew up watching and some of whom I watch now, were the ones who enjoyed both my video and my cooking. It was very satisfying,” says Cliff Pelloni of Kitchen Dads.

Celebrity chef judges for the nationwide competition included Chris Kimball, founder of America’s Test Kitchen; Sara Moulton of Sara’s Weeknight Meals; Chef Irie of Taste the Islands, Pati Jinich of Pati’s Mexican Table, world-renowned chef Jacques Pépin; and Cynthia Fenneman, president and CEO of American Public Television (APT).

Kitchen Dads is all about teaching people how to have fun in the kitchen with their family and friends, making real food. With the motto of Fun, Food, and Family, Kitchen Dads serves up fun, easy to make meals that are good for the body and good for the soul.

“I grew up with a family who loved to eat and loved to cook, and I want to pass on that legacy to my children. Through Kitchen Dads, I am teaching my boys (ages 8 and 10) about cooking real food in a fun way. I’m not a professional—I’m just a dad who loves to cook. A Kitchen Dad.”
