Noted Product Development Expert Richie Norton recently sat for an interview on the popular Pat Flynn podcast, Smart Passive Income. Norton spoke about product development, including strategies to communicate with manufacturers, find the right price point, meeting demand, and much more.
Norton is Flynn’s latest guest from a list that has included Tim Ferris, Ramit Sethi, Chalene Johnson, Gary Vaynerchuk, Amy Porterfield, and Michael Hyatt. The podcast has earned much acclaim, including “Best Business Podcast” and “Best International Podcast” with over 33 million downloads.
Norton, a sought-after podcast guest and speaker, views podcasts as an incredible vehicle to jumpstart a career as an expert and thought leader. “Podcast guesting begets speaking,” Norton said. “Podcasts are the best JV’s out there.” Norton also understands the important link between writing books and engaging in podcasts. His current work centers around both of these. He is working on a new program, Author-Audience-Affluence, which is a collaboration with John Lee Dumas, Benjamin Hardy and Robert Klubenspies. This program is designed to help anyone become a thought leader in six months or less. According to Norton, “If you haven’t noticed books and podcasts are married to each other. You need both. Everything changed when I wrote #powerofstupid. Everything. Books have magic. They do. You have a book inside of you. You do.”
Flynn is a well-known thought leader in the areas of online entrepreneurship, digital marketing and lifestyle businesses. Flynn refers to himself as a “crash test dummy for online business” and uses his podcast to teach listeners and followers the proven strategies needed to successfully start and run an online business. His emphasis is on using an online business to maximize passive income. “I created Smart Passive Income as a resource for entrepreneurs,” Flynn said. “The goal is to use my successes and failures as a guide to help others succeed so they can work hard now and then sit back and reap the benefits in the future.”
During the Pat Flynn interview, Norton spoke about product development, dealing with clients in foreign countries, and the common pitfalls of product development. Norton focused on that person who might be entering the manufacturing world and world of product development for the first time. Norton spoke in very personal terms, telling the stories of both his successes and failures. “I consider myself a teacher,” Richie said. “I want to teach business owners what they should know when building their first tangible product.” To hear the entire interview, visit www.bit.ly/NortonandFlynn.
